About the Grouchy Old Man

Nope. He’s not any of these fine gentlemen.
The Grouchy Old Man started his banking career January 1995. He didn’t have a degree in finance. He didn’t come from a banking family. …He knew nothing about banking when he started his career. And, frankly, he’s still learning today.
The Grouchy Old Man has held every position in the bank – from drive-up teller to President and CEO. He started this blog in an effort to give back – to download over 25 years of banking knowledge to the next generation.
The Grouchy Old Man is still active in banking today. He holds a “C Suite” title for a large bank in the Midwest.
If you have found this blog, thank you. I hope you find it funny and informative. If you read something here that helps you in your career, pass it long.
“Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But, to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.” ~ Charles Spurgeon
